This product includes GeoLite data created by MaxMind, available from https://www.maxmind.com. GeoLite databases are free IP geolocation databases comparable to, but less accurate than, MaxMind’s GeoIP databases. MaxMind also offers other, higher-precision GeoIP2 databases which are available with a license fee. Contact Bitmash support if you are interested in setting up one of these databases.

Bitmash has already installed the GeoIP PECL extension; the databases are updated on the first Tuesday of the month. However, you will need to manually configure Piwik to use them.

1 Log in to Piwik as an administrator.
2 Click "Administration" (the gear icon) in the navigation links.
3 Select "Geolocation" from the settings list on the left side of the page.
4 Select "GeoIP (PECL)" from the list of location providers.
