Bitmash sites using HTTPS certificates from Let’s Encrypt (the default unless a site has been configured to use an alternate certificate) will be affected by an upcoming change in compatibility with older browsers and devices. Most sites will not be significantly affected by this change.

To determine which devices will be affected, check the Let’s Encrypt certificate compatibility table. Any devices not listed under the “Platforms that trust ISRG Root X1” heading will no longer be compatible after September 30 2021. Affected platforms include:

  • Java 8 older than 8u141 (2017)
  • Java 7 older than 7u151 (2017)
  • macOS older than version 10.12.1 (2016)
  • iOS older than version 10 (2016) — iPhone 5 and above can upgrade to iOS 10
  • NSS older than 3.26 (2016)
  • OpenSSL older than 1.1.0 (2016)
  • Mozilla Firefox older than 50.0 (2016)
  • Ubuntu older than 16.04 (2016)
  • Debian older than 8 (2015)
  • Android older than 2.3.6 (2011)
  • Microsoft Windows older than XP SP3 (2008)
